Wool – Wool is a textile fibre with countless virtues and a history of millenia.
It is probably the material with which Teixidors works with the greatest affinity.
This is due to the textile tradition of the country and that of the city of Terrassa and its versatile capacity to adapt throughout the different processes in the textile craft with a wide range of results.
The collaboration with Maco Merinos empowers the affinity of Teixidors with this material, incorporating a soft wool of the highest quality with the values of proximity, traceability and sustainability from the birth of the sheep to the commercialization of the piece.
Silk – Cool in summer and warm in winter, silk is a very strong fibre with an unsurpassed feel and drape. Teixidors works with bourrette silk, a rustic yarn, which can be considered recycled continuous silk. Teixidors exports the virtues of silk to combinations with other natural materials. Used as weft, it can transform the feel of wool, soften the rigidity of linen or perfectly compliment a piece of cashmere.
A social project
They create unique, unrepeatable products made with highest quality materials that always follow an entirely manual process. Their project is not a romantic utopia; it’s a work philosophy with a focus on singularity, on the beauty of unique items.
Teixidors drinks from the fountain of artisan work, tools, processes and attitude. They use classic wool looms, they thread the best raw materials (Merino wool, cashmere, linen…) and they follow a strictly manual process. This is the core of their work, a recipe that combines tradition with a vision of the future.
