Candles on Candelera’s day
La Candelera (Day of the Candles or Candle Mass) is a Christian feast day celebrated annually on February 2. It celebrates the presentation of the child Jesus together with his first entry into the temple of Jerusalem and Virgin Mary’s purification. Candles are blessed on this day as a symbol of light.
The leading figures on today’s logbook are the Cerabella candles, pieces of fine art and design you’ll meet with at Bon Vent: Barcelona panot candle, the bird candle and the origami boat candle.
Barcelona’s typical sidewalk tiles, wax reproduction. Known as Flor de Barcelona panots.
Barcelona panot, individual. The biggest has five candles and the small one has one candle.
Origami bird, large size. Designed by Marta Méndez Blaya and Luki Huber (1999).
Origami boat: large and small size. A perfect couple.
Cerabella candles are the result of a thorough and unique process and we all look forward to having them in our homes.
